I am a member of this group. I have completed my B.Com. in
the academic year 2005 and am currently residing in Kerala. I
want to thank you for the valuable services provided to all the
M.B.A. aspirants. I have written various entrance exams for
admission into colleges providing the M.B.A. programme like
C.A.T.2005, Dec. M.A.T. 2005, S.N.A.P. 2005, etc. I am pleased to
inform you that, I got selected for the "M.B.A. Programme
affiliated to the Bangalore University" from "Alliance Business
Academy" , Bangalore on the basis of my "M.A.T. score of
93.34%tile". Till today, I have attended 3 G.D.s and 3 P.I.s ie., of
"S.D.M.-I.M.D. Mysore", "Christ College Bangalore" and "Alliance
Business Academy Bangalore".
I want to share my G.D./P.I. experiences with the whole group.
My Interview was
at the A.B.A. Campus itself. I reached the
venue at the correct time. We were asked to give a written test of
45 minutes on the parameters of C.A.T., M.A.T., etc. I was
shocked, even though the test was mentioned in the call letter!! I
was worried about the Quantitative part. A correcvt answer could
fetch us a "+1" mark and a wrong one, "-0.5". I felt the test to be
easy. After a gap of 1 hour, we had a 3 minute Extempore. My
topic was "Is Media fulfilling its responsibilities?"
From around 200 candidates present there that day, 79
were selected. I was one among the shortlisted candidate for the
P.I.
"Questions asked": a) Why do you want to do an M.B.A.?
b) Why M.B.A. in "Alliance Business Academy"?
c) Who is an Entrepreneur?
d) What are the differences between an Entrepreneur and a
Manager?
e) Do Mangers have to take risks?
f) Name some of the "Profitability Ratios"?
g) In which field, do you want to specialise?
h) If we give you a seat in our college, will you accept it Or you
have other offers?
I was very happy after my interview and my 6th sense was
congratulating me for my seletion. After a long wait, the results
were announced and I ws the 1st person to be selected. My
happiness knew no bound on that day. The selected candidates
were instructed to deposit a part of the 1st instalment fees for the
2 years M.B.A. programme, that day itself. I did it. It was for Rs.
25,000.
As, I want to do "Ph.D." after my M.B.A., I have opted for the"M.B.A. Programme affiliated to the Bangalore University". What
are your views on it, as many people say that the programme
lags because of the Bangalore University? But only this
programme, offered by the college, is "A.I.C.T.E. accredidated"
and offers a dual specialisation facility.
If I am doing a single specialisation in M.B.A., I will get
more knowledge about a particular stream like marketing or
finance, etc. And when, I am doing a dual specialisation; I will get
knowledge about 2 streams and will not be able to go deep in
my selected streams as I can in case of single specialisation.
Please guide me in this case. "Should I do a single
specialisation or a dual specialisation in my M.B.A.
programme?"
I know that this time, my mail is very lengthy. I apologise
for the inconvenience caused to you. I have to purchase a laptop
for my M.B.A. course. I will be very grateful to you, if you can guide
me on various companies selling the laptops, market prices,
modern requirements like "Wi-Fi" facility, etc. for the laptop. Once
again, I thank you for helping M.B.A. aspirants in distress, like
me.
