S.D.M.-I.M.D. MYSORE

I am a member of this group. I have completed my B.Com. in the academic year 2005 and am currently residing in Kerala. I
want to thank you for the valuable services provided to all the M.B.A. aspirants. I have written various entrance exams for
admission into colleges providing the M.B.A. programme like C.A.T.2005, Dec. M.A.T. 2005, S.N.A.P. 2005, etc. I am pleased to
inform you that, I got selected for the "M.B.A. Programme affiliated to the Bangalore University" from "Alliance Business
Academy" , Bangalore on the basis of my "M.A.T. score of 93.34%tile". Till today, I have attended 3 G.D.s and 3 P.I.s ie., of
"S.D.M.-I.M.D. Mysore", "Christ College Bangalore" and "Alliance Business Academy Bangalore".
I want to share my G.D./P.I. experiences with the whole group.

The G.D. and the P.I. for SDM was conducted in various places. Mine was conducted in "St. Albert's College , Cochin, Kerala". We were asked to report at the venue at 1:30 p.m.

GD :

The G.D. started at 2:00 p.m. I was the first candidate in our batch of 10 students, which was also the first one to march for the G.D. The topic given to us was "Celebrity Brand Endorsement-Effective advertising?" It was for 20 minutes with a written summary at the end. As, it was my first real G.D. experience, neither I could  generate much points, nor could I finish my written summary at time. Infact, I was trying to control and direct our group, more. The G.D. became a big fish market scenario. However, it was not an elimination round and they had called 10 candidates for a single seat. Shocking !!!

INTERVIEW:

After some time, we were called for the P.I. and off- course, I was the first scape goat!! I was very cool and pretended to be very confident during the entire interview. The interview panel consisted of 2 faculty members of the "S.D.M.-I.M.D. College itself.
 
 "Questions asked":

a) Tell me some thing about yourself ? (to which, I got stuck in the middle and was staring the interviewer's face foolishly.)  
b) What are the principles of accountancy?
c) What are the elements of cost?
d) What are overheads?
e) Define standard deviation with a suitable formula?
f)  Which is your favourite subject in Commerce?
g) Who is an Entrepreneur?
h) What are your long term goals?
g) Do you want to ask us anything about our college? (to which, I asked a plethora of questions. What to do, my interview went
hap-hazard. So, I decided to take their interview !!
 
           I could have had done better in both the G.D. and the P.I.
