IIFT (25th Nov 2007) : This time paper was simpler compared to the last year one . It was more focused on testing the required skill set and was not like last year where the focus was making on a difficult question paper. We will soon publish a detailed analysis of the paper on our website The paper was divided to 4 sections and there were total 150 questions to be solved. Each question had 4 options to select the correct answer from. Wrong answer fetched 1/3rd of negative marking. Marks allotted to questions in different sections were different and the total maximum marks were 100.
More details on the 4 sections is as follows : SECTION 1 : QA and DI : There were 51 questions in total with around 43 % of total marks allocated to this section.
SECTION 2 : English Usage and RC . There were 34 question in total in this section out of which 12 questions were on RC and 22 questions were on Verbal Ability. This section was allocated around 20.5 % of the total marks in the paper, with around 13 % of total coming from English Usage and 7 % of total marks from RC.
SECTION 3 : RESONING AND DECISON MAKING . This section was allocated around 25 % of the total marks of the paper. It had 2 sub-section , one on Reasoning and and one on Business judgment. The reasoning section carried around 18 % of the total marks of the paper and Business judgment section carried around 7 % of the total marks.
SECTION 4 was based on General Knowledge . It had 29 questions in all and carried 11 % marks of the total paper. Questions were based on History, Geography, Science, Sports, Economics, Social science, business awareness and current affairs. EXPECTED CUT OFF BY URPERCENTILE.COM THIS YEAR IS : Indian Institute of Foreign Trade Delhi / Kolkata : Expected cut off is 32. UrPercentile.com does not expects sectional cut off as it has not been mentioned anywhere. Final selection is based on overall performance of written test, GD and PI.
