ONE YEAR MANAGEMENT PROGRAMS

One year residential full time management program is relatively a new concept in India.  Most of the institute offerring one year MBA require that the candidates are graduates and have 2 to 5 years of working experience. These courses are open for international candidates as well in most of the institutes. Good institutes ask for more work experience while those with lesser ranking ask for less working experience.

 Some  of the institute may also set a minimum age of around 27 years as an eligibility criteria.  Corporate sponsorship is welcome but not mandatory for most of these programs. Most of the institute require candidates to appear for GMAT. Some institute may accept CAT score for admission or for provisional admission to these courses. Essay , recommendation letters, past academics, quality of work experience, interview and GD are also taken into consideration before giving the final offer letter.

Most of these programs are expensive compared to other management programs in India.  Total annual expenses at some these institutes can touch up to Rs 15 Lakh. Though if you compare this with cost of doing program abroad you will find it less expensive.  One year management program in Europe or USA may cost you  twice or thrice of this amount. Getting bank loan for these courses is  easy and most of the institutes have arrangements with banks so that the candidates are able to get loan easily.

 Programs are usually focucussed on general management unless specified.   Some institutes offer assistance for placements at the end of the course to the non-sponsored candidates.
